The Maritime Museum, housed in a restored LIRR station, has exhibits ranging from aquarium tanks filled with local marine wildlife, to collections of lighthouse artifacts, historic fishing equipment, antique ship-building tools, ship models and photography. The foundation sponsors the Greenport Maritime Festival in September, which features whaleboat races, wooden boat regatta, clam chowder contests, clam opening contests, Air Force and Coast Guard rescue demonstrations, music and food.
